We rented a car and had been driving all throughout Ireland. I would highly recommend it, if you are an overly calm driver or super aggressive one. You need to be able to keep your cool when it looks like you and another car will never ever be able to share the road. Trust me, I don't know what happens, it just works. After three days, I thought a Corolla was like the size of an SUV and I was thankful for our tiny compact car as we drove the coastal routes. Needless to say, the grass is insanely green and besides the ten minute sprinkle of rain every day, we loved every moment of being stuck in a car together exploring unchartered areas not explained in our Ireland tourist book.
